We are recruiting for a manager to lead the Southwark Information, Advice, and Support (SIAS) service.

About the Role:

In this role, you will coordinate the SIAS Team to support Southwark families in accessing Special Educational Needs (SEN) services. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that parents and young people have access to comprehensive information, advice and guidance in relation to SEND
  • Building partnerships with parents, carers, schools, and professionals.
  • Delivering training sessions to key stakeholders.
  • Supporting the professional development of a team of SIAS advisors.

About You:

As SIAS Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring that parents of children and young people with SEND (and young people themselves) receive high-quality advice and guidance. To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have comprehensive knowledge of SEND services, legislation and statutory processes, with proven experience applying them in practice.
  • Have substantial experience supporting children and young people with SEND (ages 0-25) and their families in education, health and social care matters.
  • Possess excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Be committed to ongoing professional training and development.

About the Team:

As SIAS Manager, you will lead a team that provides information, advice, and guidance to families and young people navigating the SEND system. You will manage a high-performing team, build strong relationships with staff, customers and partner services, and develop the service (including the Local Offer) to meet evolving needs. Additionally, you will participate in strategic partnerships and ensure effective performance management.
