Position: Qualified Social Worker (Adults Learning Disabilities)

We are seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join our adult social care team. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of Mental Capacity Act legislation, Human Rights, and the Care Act. If you have a passion for working with adults with learning disabilities and are committed to tailoring support on an individual basis and building on people’s strengths, we want to hear from you.
Your responsibilities:
1. Varied caseload:
- We work with individuals with learning disabilities living in a variety of settings, including at times of change. You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills base in multiple areas.
2. Assessing, protecting, and representing in court:
- You'll be responsible for assessing needs under the Care Act, ensuring safety through safeguarding, and evaluating the capacity of individuals. Your role includes court work, where you'll represent and advocate for people, making sure their needs and rights are represented.
3. Teamwork for independence and life opportunities:
- Working closely with the person, their families, MDT, and a supportive management team, you'll collaborate with others to come up with strategies to help people be more independent and open up opportunities in their lives. This involves planning, coordinating resources, and working together to create positive outcomes.

Your role in our journey:
As a social worker in our adults learning disabilities team, you'll:
- Respond to situations building on people’s strengths using strengths-based approaches.
- Develop flexible, creative solutions for positive outcomes, promoting independence and a healthier life.
- Help people, families, carers, and communities make informed decisions for a safer, more independent future using your social work values and skills.
What you'll need:
- Recognised social work qualification.
- Registration with Social Work England (student social workers to apply once qualification granted).
- Passion for, and ideally relevant experience of, working with people with learning disabilities.
- Commitment to producing high-quality assessments and collaborating with various agencies.
- Knowledge of key legislation, local and national policy issues, equal opportunities and anti-oppressive practice.

Salary range
- £35,412 - £46,142 per year
