Blackpool Children's Services has been on an incredible journey of transformation. Whilst the road has at times been challenging, our commitment to improving outcomes for children and families has never wavered. The sustained dedication of our workforce, leaders and partners has led to significant and lasting improvements across our services.

In June 2026, Ofsted recognised the remarkable progress made in Blackpool, judging the impact of leaders on social work practice with children and families as Outstanding, alongside Outstanding services for children in care and care leavers, and Good services for children who need help and protection. Inspectors found that children and families now benefit from "consistently high-quality, innovative services that respond to and meet their needs effectively" and recognised the transformational improvements achieved across the partnership.
