What You’ll Be Doing / How You’ll Be Involved
We are looking to appoint a dynamic assessing supervising social worker for our Fostering Team.
You will have responsibility for undertaking the role of Kinship assessments and Foster Carers supervision, support and development, training, evaluate and review of foster carers who are offering placements to Children Looked After. This is collaborative role of both kinship and supervising, you will also be required to participate in the Fostering Team’s duty rota over a number of days each month. In addition to this you will have the opportunity to participate in various other team activities such as delivering support groups, skills to foster program and training to carers.

To be considered for one of these fantastic opportunities it is essential that the successful candidate is a fully qualified and accredited Social Worker with current Social Work England (SWE) registration and has at least two years’ post qualifying experience.
The post holder must have previous demonstrable experience writing complex assessments of a child's needs and/or risk, including designing and implementing care/protection plans and completing court work as well as of monitoring and reviewing such plans over a period of time. We are looking for a dynamic social worker who has working experience with kinship families, completing assessments and supporting and developing foster families.
We are looking for someone who is an experienced and exceptional social worker, focused on best outcomes for young people. We would like someone who takes responsibility, can work both independently and collaboratively, and within a systemic approach. You will require 2 years’ post-qualification experience as a social worker, preferably within a Fostering team environment, with good investigative and analysis skills.
You will also have extensive experience in completing assessments, preferably Kinships assessments, supervision preparation, training, support and review of foster carers offering placements to Children Looked After. Also you’ll possess a sound knowledge of the legislative framework relating to children particularly the Children Act 1989, Fostering Service Regulations 2011, National Minimum Standards and other relevant guidance and standards.
Being able to negotiate and have the ability to deal with conflict, hostility and vulnerability is paramount. You will need to also be an expert practitioner, positive about the work and the development of the team and service will succeed in this role.
