    Job introduction

Job title: Social Impact Officer Major Sports Events – (Liverpool City Region Culture and Community)

Liverpool City Region’s programme of major sporting events is rapidly expanding, offering opportunities to drive cultural engagement, community participation and shared pride across all six boroughs. From international tournaments to multisport festivals, these events provide a powerful platform for cultural and community-led legacy.

We are now recruiting a Social Impact Officer (Culture & Community) to amplify the cultural and community benefits of these events at an LCR-wide level.

    What you’ll do

    • Integrate cultural and community social impact objectives into major event planning.
    • Co-design cultural legacy programmes in partnership with cultural organisations, neighbourhood teams and community groups across the region
    • Facilitate community voice, ensuring residents shape the opportunities delivered locally
    • Build trusted relationships with partners across sport, education, voluntary, community and LCR authority partners
    • Deliver inclusive cultural participation programmes that reflect local needs
    • Gather and share data, insight and stories to evidence impact and support reporting

    About you

You will have experience in cultural development, participation, creative engagement or community-based programmes. You’ll be a relationship-builder, a connector and an advocate for inclusion. You’ll thrive in collaborative spaces and enjoy working across diverse communities

    Why this role matters

This role ensures that major sporting events champion the unique cultural identities of communities across the Liverpool City Region — strengthening pride, belonging and participation

Join us to create cultural legacies that last long beyond the event itself.
