This is a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover role. Secondments will be considered.
About the Role
As a Skills and Employment Broker, you’ll work with training providers, employers and other stakeholders to deliver our Skills Bootcamps programme.
Skills Bootcamps provide flexible hands-on training courses of up to 16 weeks, giving people the opportunity to build up sector-specific skills and fast-track to an interview with a local employer or progress in their current workplace. For employers, they give them the opportunity to upskill existing employees or recruit from a talent-pool of recently trained individuals to fill vacancies.
The programme is funded by Department for Education.
You will be expected to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders, maintaining a caseload of Independent Training Providers and FE colleges who deliver on the programme, as well as building good relationships with employers across the city region.
About the person
This is a multi-faceted role and requires somebody with experience of working within training, careers or adult skills programmes with an understanding of local and national skills provision.
The ideal candidate will have a track record of building meaningful relationships with employers and understand the needs and issues facing employers, particularly in relation to recruitment and upskilling.
We are looking for somebody who is an outstanding communicator with experience of presenting to audiences, as a key part of the role is to promote the programme to stakeholders.
They will also have experience of maintaining a caseload of partners and be able to demonstrate their ability to work accurately to deadlines, with a keen eye for detail.

Salary range
- £35,435 - £41,646 per year
