
Sheltered Scheme Coordinator

We’re recruiting for a new member of our Sheltered Housing team.
About the role:
This role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic candidate keen to develop a variety of skills and experience, offering the opportunity to work in a busy and important team in the Council. The successful candidate will:
- Be a key part of a friendly and supportive team.
- Be flexible, enabling you to manage your own workload.
- Manage the older persons housing schemes, ensuring a safe, comfortable and supportive environment in line with Housing Related Support (HRS) guidelines and the Council’s own policies.
- Provide support and advocate for tenants, encouraging community engagement while enabling residents’ safety, independence and wellbeing.
Who we’re looking for:
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Are educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
- Have previous experience of working in sheltered housing or in a similar role of working with older or vulnerable people.
- Are IT proficient in ‘Word’ and Outlook SharePoint.
- Have knowledge of Health and Safety and Risk Assessment procedures.
- Have knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults procedures.
- Have a certificate in Supported Housing or similar equivalent qualification (desirable).
- Have an NVQ in Health in Social Care (desirable).
- Have First Aid in the Workplace or equivalent (desirable).

Local Government Reorganisation
Surrey is part of the government’s plans for local government reorganisation. This means the current two tier system, where services are split between Surrey County Council and district and borough councils like Tandridge, will be replaced with larger councils, which handle all local services.
Although this may lead to some uncertainty for anyone considering a role with us, this process will take several years and during that time we still need to provide services.
When local government is reorganised, most staff will transfer to the new council which may offer additional opportunities for career development and variety as part of a larger organisation. The majority of the roles we currently have will still be needed whether that is for planning, housing, recycling and waste, finance, IT, HR etc
Salary range
- £29,273 - £33,450 per year
