Are you an experienced and dynamic leader with a passion for public service and systems excellence? We are seeking a Shared Service Manager – Systems, Support & Control to join our senior management team within the Revenues & Benefits Shared Service.

About the Role

As a key member team, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of systems administration, support services, and control functions across our shared service. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, efficient, services.

You will also play a vital role in:


  • Managing revenues in excess of £200 million and benefit payments over £60 million.
  • Overseeing system integrity, performance, and compliance across all IT platforms.
  • Leading year-end processes, system upgrades, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Driving innovation, continuous improvement, and service transformation.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation, data protection, and audit requirements.

About you

As an ideal candidate, you will have:

  • At least 5 years of relevant management experience in Revenues and/or Benefits.
  • Strong knowledge of Housing Benefit, Council Tax, NNDR, and fraud prevention.
  • Proven experience in systems administration and performance management.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • IRRV Technician qualification or equivalent experience is desirable.
