Location: The role will work across Watford, Three Rivers, Hertsmere. Dacorum and St Albans. Ability to travel independently between various locations is essential.

About the team

Hertfordshire Services for Young People (SfYP) is looking for a highly organised and motivated Area Project Officer to support the delivery of quality services for young people across the South and West of Hertfordshire.

This is a varied and rewarding role working across two area teams, supporting senior leaders and multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver youth work, careers advice, and effective pathways into education, employment and training. You will play a key role in coordinating activity, analysing performance data, supporting projects and partnerships, and ensuring smooth operational delivery.


About the role

Key Responsibilities:

You will:

  • Work closely with Service Managers to support service planning, delivery and priorities
  • Collate, analyse and report on attendance, performance and outcomes data to support service improvement
  • Prepare briefings and reports for senior managers and Elected Members
  • Support the planning, delivery and follow‑up of partnership meetings and service events, including annual young people’s awards
  • Assist with monitoring internal and external income and expenditure and reporting on budgets
  • Support recruitment activity to fill vacancies efficiently across area teams
  • Research, draft and promote positive news stories, press releases and social media content
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of projects in partnership with internal teams and external organisations
  • Provide high‑quality administrative, organisational and project support to ensure services run smoothly


About you

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment and takes pride in being organised, proactive and detail‑focused.

Essential requirements:

  • Legal right to work in the UK
  • Full driving licence and daily access to a vehicle
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to produce clear, well‑structured reports and presentations
  • Experience researching, analysing, interpreting and reporting on data
  • Good ICT skills, including confidence using social media

Desirable:

  • Experience managing competing project priorities
  • An understanding of Services for Young People and the range of support provided to young people – www.servicesforyoungpoeple.org
