Starting Salary: £38,220 progressing to £41,771 per annum (pro rata for part time)

  • 37 hours per week - Apsley, Hemel Hempstead base location with countywide travel required
  • 18.5 hours per week - Farnham House, Stevenage base location with countywide travel required

About the team

Hertfordshire County Council Services for Young People (HCC SfYP) is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Careers, Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) practitioner to support the development and delivery of creative and innovative CEIAG and Work Related Learning (WRL) to support progression of young people and vulnerable young adults.

This key post whilst being challenging is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to really make a mark on the service and shape delivery both now and in the future.

About the role

This role will require the post holder to:

  • Understand the needs of young people and how the priorities of HCC SfYP address them and personally develop existing and new services.
  • Ensure that the needs of all clients are met, so that they are able and motivated to engage in education, training, work opportunities and constructive activities that lead to successful transitions and positive destination outcomes.
  • Develop and respond to new initiatives in line with the Service priorities, working to strategic aims and objectives.
  • Deliver CEIAG in 1 to 1, in groups and create new products and programmes which will require you to be flexible, to multi task and work independently within dynamic and evolving teams.
  • Supporting the delivery of quality work across the County by working collaboratively with partners, development expertise, training practitioners and promoting the use of social media.
  • Hold a CEIAG qualification with successful experience of supporting young people to progress in education, employment or training and ideally have experience of engaging with employers.
  • Work across the county, undertaking this role that enables the Service to respond flexibly to changing client needs, statutory guidance and develops new locality products and services to meet key targets and the expectation of funders and stakeholders.

About you

Essential:

  • Hold either Level 6 CEIAG DipCG or QCG
  • Full UK driving licence and regular access to a vehicle.
  • Excellent organisation and administrative skills with good attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to performance manage a team to a high standard
  • Able to understand the barriers that young people face
  • To be able to work to and achieve targets
  • To understand the needs of the young people, and service delivery
  • Good ICT Skills
