Salary: £26,832 - £28,146 per annum (pro rata for part-time) (Pay award pending)

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

About the Role

The Service Support Assistant role is part of the wider Business Support Service, and the role includes completing tasks on various information and finance management systems within the timescales given, improving data quality in key systems by working with a high standard of attention to detail and following agreed procedures.
Included in this role is the expectation to receive visitors and respond to and screen telephone calls, emails and other enquiries and therefore to provide a high level of customer care.

The successful applicant will also produce letters, reports, emails, minutes, spreadsheets and presentations, etc., using a variety of software packages to a professional standard, maintaining diaries, making appointments and arranging meetings as required. Also to manage and co-ordinate a busy incoming and outgoing workload, taking appropriate action to record, track, progress and prioritise work, using their own initiative as required to resolve non-complex queries and problems.
As part of the wider team, an important part of all roles within the service is to provide back-up to colleagues across service areas and to assist in handling urgent work on a day-to-day basis.

About You

To apply for this post, you must: have:

  • A recognised academic qualifications e.g. GCSEs, A Levels, Vocational Qualifications, Professional/Further Education Qualifications in a relevant area, NVQ 2 in Business Administration or equivalent. Alternatively, you will demonstrate an equivalent level of relevant experience.
  • Good computer skills, including a good understanding of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), with the ability to use spreadsheets and perform basic data analysis. You can provide evidence of establishing and maintaining manual and electronic admin systems.
  • Demonstrate that you have good organisational skills that allow you to prioritise your own workload and work under minimal supervision whilst maintaining a flexible approach.
  • Good written and oral communication skills and can demonstrate experience providing excellent customer care skills.
  • Able to produce accurate work to deadlines and demonstrate that you can work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Have demonstrated full understanding of the need to maintain confidentiality and have experience working with sensitive information.
  • Able to give evidence of numeracy and statistical analysis skills, including experience working with financial information or in a financial setting.
