A range of experiences and learning opportunities can help to give children and young people the best start in life and this role will oversee the development and impact of our new strategy and programme of investment.

    Working collaboratively across the council developing partnerships, with our CVS sector to grow capacity and developing relationships with corporate partners to ensure opportunities for children. This role oversees a significant budget on one of our key corporate priorities.

    What you’ll need

    To join us, you’ll need be educated to degree level or equivalent. You will have relevant experience of grant making or commissioning, working with the voluntary sector and developing meaningful partnerships and demonstrating impact of project investment. You’ll bring to the role a sound understanding of the legislative and policy framework around providing services to children, families and young people.

    Naturally, you’ll demonstrate what it takes to communicate at service manager or equivalent level of operational management in a large agency or organisation relevant to the provision of services for children, young people, families and adults. Crucially, you are determined to anticipate and plan for future developments and options and demonstrate a passion for improving outcomes.
