This is an exciting opportunity for someone to lead within our 0-25 Together Service. You will focus on building high performing teams, the quality and effectiveness of person-centred practice and be instinctively focussed on building multi-disciplinary partnerships that support better outcomes. Your impact will help us to provide first class support that the children, young people and families using our service need.
You will manage a group of Team Managers, their focus is to deliver, family help, social care assessment and specialist interventions at the interface with health, education and social care as young people prepare for and become adults. Our workforce is culturally diverse reflecting the makeup of the families with whom we work. You be will part of a dynamic group of Practice Leaders who work closely together offering support where needed to make sure that Hertfordshire citizens achieve ‘connected lives’.
0-25 Together is our specialist service for disabled children, young people, young adults and their families with a focus on supporting people to reach their full potential, enabling their independence and ensuring that they can take part in their local community. The service supports young people and young adults and their families, we are seeking a confident and experienced 0-25 social care professional to complement our existing multi -disciplinary team. You will champion seamless transitional practice and effective partnership working.
About the role
As a Service Manager you will be:
- Leading Team Managers to oversee quality of practice in their teams, creating a culture of wellbeing and a sense of belonging. Offering welfare and reflective supervision.
- Be confident in the application of Children Act (1989) and Care Act (2014) as they relate to Disabled people and their communities
- Actively seek customer feedback and proactively support complaints management.
- Maintaining KPI’s including reviewing and maintaining performance around assessment and review, in both adults and children’s services
- Managing finances and supporting system efficiency whilst applying eligibility thresholds when decision making.
- Overseeing Social Work Practice and application of procedures. You will provide expert advice and guidance in relation to decision making and care planning.
- Showing confidence in applying Human Resource procedures in the event of staff welfare, disciplinary and grievance.
About you
Essential:
- Commitment to Diversity, Equity, Equality, and Inclusion in all that you do.
- Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration.
- 5 years post qualifying experience, including some relevant Court experience.
- Significant experience of Disability and the Partnership required to respond to people in need.
- Strong knowledge of policies, procedures and effective leadership skills.
- Ability to offer robust case direction and reflective supervision.
- Ability to manage poor performance effectively.
- Ability to develop and sustain partnerships across teams and be an effective advocate for the Council.
- Driving licence and access to a car
Desirable:
- To have worked in a similar setting and procedural environment.
- Knowledge of SEND Policy and Practice with experience of organising support for those with complex and multiple needs.
- Experience and confidence in complaints and dispute resolution procedures
