We are recruiting a Senior Youth and Family Worker at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 37 Hours
Contract Type: Full Time, Fixed Term until 30th September 2026
Location: Various Locations across the Borough

Team: Youth Service


This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organization.

We pay an attractive salary of £35,412 - £38,220 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

The successful candidate will work as part of a team in designated areas within the Caerphilly County Borough.

The post holder will build trusting relationships with young people aged 8-25 to provide opportunities for learning, developing skill and personal growth. They will develop innovative ways to engage families from a variety of backgrounds, including those considered as hard to reach and will also develop programmes that provide purposeful, educational and outcome focussed activities, working in partnership with young people, their families, community groups and other providers.

The successful candidate will be expected to work 3 evenings and occasional weekends.

For the role, we ask that you have:

  • A Youth and Community Work Degree or related qualification (Community Development, Early Years, Education etc).
  • Knowledge and understanding of United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
  • The ability to engage young people in a variety of initiatives.
  • Experience in Youth Work or Associated Field.
  • The post holder is required to have access to their own vehicle and drive a leased / Council vehicle to transport service users regularly throughout the working week.
