The London Borough of Havering is seeking an experienced and committed Senior Youth Justice Practitioner to join our multi-agency Youth Justice Service. This pivotal role focuses on preventing children and young people from entering the youth justice system and supporting those who have offended to move away from further criminal behaviour.
What You'll Do
- Lead and manage a team of Youth Justice practitioners, Reparation and Restorative Justice Workers, and sessional staff.
- Oversee delivery of statutory interventions and the Junior Attendance Centre (JAC).
- Champion restorative justice, reparation, and victim work.
- Ensure compliance with Youth Justice National Standards and robust safeguarding practice.
- Work directly with young people and victims, promoting trauma-informed and whole-family approaches.
- Contribute to strategic partnerships and service development.
About You
- Significant experience in youth justice, safeguarding, or related services.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of youth justice legislation and practice.
- Excellent communication, organisational and partnership-working abilities.
- A degree or professional qualification in Social Work, Youth Work, Probation, Policing, or similar.
