Are you passionate about designing and delivering innovative, secure, and scalable technology solutions? As a Senior Solutions Architect at Enfield Council, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving our digital transformation. You’ll act as a technical authority, shaping cloud-first strategies and ensuring our technology aligns with enterprise architecture and GDS standards. This is a hands-on, influential position where you’ll collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver high-impact solutions that make a real difference to our residents.
About You
You are an experienced Solutions Architect (or similar), with a strong background in enterprise architecture and the full solution development lifecycle. You have a proven track record of designing complex, cross-platform solutions in large-scale agile environments, and possess deep expertise in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365. You understand cloud-native architectures, microservices, API design, and secure, scalable solution design. Experience with Teams, SharePoint, Exchange Online, and a solid grasp of data protection and regulatory standards are essential. You’re a collaborative leader, an effective communicator, and thrive on guiding teams and stakeholders through technical decisions.
Your technical expertise includes:
- Design & Implementation: Designing and implementing secure, scalable network solutions, covering both traditional LAN/WAN and cloud-based architectures.
- Azure Networking: In-depth knowledge of Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), subnets, peering, VPN gateways, ExpressRoute, and network security groups.
- Hybrid Connectivity: Experience with hybrid connectivity models (e.g., site-to-site VPN, ExpressRoute) to integrate on-premises and cloud environments.
- Network Security: Familiarity with network segmentation, firewalls, load balancers (Azure Load Balancer, Application Gateway), and Zero Trust principles.
- Storage: Experience with Azure Storage Accounts, Managed Disks, Blob/File storage, and backup/recovery strategies.
- Monitoring & Security: Implementing Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Security Centre for diagnostics, monitoring, and compliance.
- App Services: Deploying and managing Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Azure SQL.
- Integration: Designing solutions using Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, and API Management for application integration and messaging.
- Serverless & Automation: Leveraging serverless technologies (Azure Functions, Logic Apps) and automating deployments with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
- Security & Governance: Applying RBAC, Azure AD integration, Key Vault, and policy enforcement for secure container environments.
- Identity & Access Management: Implementing Azure Active Directory, Conditional Access, and RBAC.
- Compliance: Ensuring solutions meet regulatory standards (ISO 27001, GDPR, NIST, Cyber Essentials).
- Cost Management: Using Azure Cost Management and Advisor for resource optimisation and governance.
- Monitoring & Diagnostics: Setting up Application Insights, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics for proactive monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Working with business analysts, developers, and technical support teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.
- Mentoring: Providing technical guidance and mentorship to project teams and junior architects.
- Documentation: Creating and maintaining architectural diagrams, technical specifications, and user guides.
