As a Senior Planning Policy Officer your role will be critical in helping to support and shape this new vision.
Working as part The Planning Team that won Best Council Service Team at The Municipal Journal (The MJ) Awards in 2022 you will have the opportunity to work on a range of topics spanning urban and rural issues.
About the Role
This full-time permanent role offers the flexibility of working within our offices in Ilford (Usually 2 days a week) and working from home, allowing you that extra freedom and work life balance.
Key responsibilities will include:
- To formulate and draft policy for statutory and non- statutory planning documents, developing planning policy, including preparing and drafting policy for the review of the Redbridge Local Plan
- To make proposals for the analysis of data, including undertaking the design of data collection exercises, cross- referencing data from disparate sources, applying such analysis and outcomes to the review and development of planning policies and proposals.
- To provide timely and relevant advice on planning policy and its interpretation, including preparing expert advice to Council Committees, Members, Public Inquiries, Examinations in Public, and public meetings as required.
- To play a role in supporting Corporate Objectives for investment and new development in the borough including the regeneration of Ilford and improving quality of life.
- To ensure that there is full and effective engagement of public and stakeholders in the planning policy processes.
An RTPI accredited postgraduate degree and experience is required.

Salary range
- £47,532 - £50,574 per year
