    Permanent, 37 per week. Hybrid working with a minimum 1 day office based per week

    About the role

    We are seeking a Senior Planning Officer to join our established and supportive Economic Development and Planning Service, at Stafford Borough Council. This is an ideal opportunity to join a dynamic and forward thinking planning policy team. You’ll be at the heart of leading and developing a varied and rewarding New Local Plan workload, helping to deliver high‑quality services to our communities whilst contributing to an ambitious planning agenda.

    About you

    You will be:

    • Significant professional experience of planning policy and research, including development viability and monitoring systems
    • Qualified to degree level or above in planning with full RTPI membership
    • Enthusiastic, commitment and ability to work to tight deadlines
    • Demonstrate high levels of complex analytical, project management and presentational techniques supported by advanced IT skills
    • Detailed knowledge and understanding of statutory Regulations and the implications of national policy within a Local Plan context
    • Enjoy both taking individual responsibility, managing other officers and working as part of a busy Service with ambitious growth aspirations for the future
