Sefton Council’s Corporate Legal Services is comprised of four legal teams with administrative support. The Litigation and Regulatory Team provide legal services in relation to all Regulatory and Governance , Civil and Criminal Litigation and Employment Law .
You hold a legal qualification such as CILEX or law degree and / or experience of working in a legal practice and have demonstrable experience of the law relating to governance, regulatory matters, civil and criminal litigation including in particular Housing Licensing and the First Tier Property tribunals.
You will be responsible for a varied caseload which includes drafting statutory notices, orders and other legal documentation, and preparing bundles and cases for the single justice procedure at the Magistrates court .
You will be required to conduct advocacy in civil and criminal courts in relation to obtaining warrants , initial hearings and directions hearings and other orders in relation to Highways and the Criminal Justice Public order Act 1994.
You will have experience of working as part of a team, to assist others with advice to client departments , to achieve team objectives and adhere to court imposed timetables.
Preferably you will have experience of working in local government.

Salary range
- £31,586 - £35,235 per year
