About You

This is an active field officer post, and you will have to exercise warrants, pursue rogue traders and support victims.&nbsp; You will need to be a highly motivated self-starter and completer / finisher with good communication and negotiation skills.&nbsp; You will work in partnership with neighbouring North-East London authorities, Police, Fire, Customs, Home Office and other enforcement teams.&nbsp; You will need the full range of investigation and reporting skills, including appearance at Magistrates’ and Crown Courts.

Are you an experienced litigation lawyer ready to lead complex and high-profile legal matters within local government? We are seeking a&nbsp;Senior Litigation Lawyer&nbsp;to join our Legal Services team and contribute to delivering a modern, high-performing legal function at the heart of public service.
<h3>About the Role</h3>
You will play a key role in managing and delivering high-quality legal advice and representation across a wide range of litigation matters. This includes acting as the lead on complex cases involving&nbsp;judicial reviews, injunctions, enforcement actions, statutory appeals, regulatory prosecutions, and general civil/criminal litigation within a local authority context.

About You
We are looking for an ambitious and pragmatic legal professional with:
- Qualified solicitor, barrister or CILEX lawyer with a current practising certificate (‘Authorisation to conduct litigation’ from the Bar standards board for Barristers or ‘Practice rights’ for CILEX).
- Significant post-qualification experience in litigation, ideally within or advising local authorities.
- Previous experience of people management, ideally within a local authority setting (or similar).
- Strong understanding of public law principles, local government law, civil procedure, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to provide clear, concise legal advice.
- A strategic thinker who can manage competing priorities and deliver under pressure.
- Proven experience in supervising legal staff and managing complex caseloads effectively.
- Confident advocate, comfortable representing the Council in court or tribunals.
- A collaborative and solution-focused approach, with a commitment to public service values.

We are pleased to be advertising the role of Compliance Officer within the Adults and Health Directorate. This is a permanent role to work within the Adult Social Care Quality Assurance Team.&nbsp; 
This role is key to the success and sustainability of locally commissioned provider services. The role will contribute to a program of work which focuses on compliance, improvements to quality of care and development of the provider sector.&nbsp; If you have experience of undertaking quality assurance work within the adult social care sector…….we want to hear from you!
About you…

<li>A-Level equivalent in Maths and English</li>
<li>Experience of working in a Quality Assurance and/or within a regulatory role for the provider sector</li>

About the role…
To be successful as the Compliance Officer your duties will include:
<ul>
<li>Maintaining regular contact with care providers via monthly multi-disciplinary meetings</li>
<li>Acting as a point of contact for care providers regarding any issues connected to quality and compliance in line with their CQC regulatory standards of care</li>
<li>Providing regular updates to providers via newsletter, email and telephone contact on various topics including training, infection control etc.</li>
<li>Acting as a link to national, regional and local forums connected to provider care provision including Skills for Care</li>
<li>Working with the Compliance Lead to co-ordinate the assurance visits, undertake pre-assurance visit research and collate data to prepare for potential key lines of enquiry</li>
<li>Undertaking aspects of the assurance visits in line with Rutland’s Assurance Framework and to record, analyse and report findings from these visits to produce SMART action plans which support an approach of continuous improvement</li>
<li>Involvement in implementing projects with providers, informed by national, regional and local priorities and to co-produce, co-design with providers wherever possible</li>
</ul>
