We are seeking to appoint an inspiring and enthusiastic Senior Learning Assistant to support pupils at Cowley International College in one of our Inclusive Pathways programmes.

The primary purpose of the Senior Learning Assistant is to complement the professional work of qualified teachers by taking responsibility for learning activities under an agreed system of supervision. He/she will have a significant role to play in the planning, delivery and monitoring of learning activities. The successful candidate will be able to encourage pupils to become independent learners whilst providing appropriate support for students.

Our Inclusive Pathways are a suite of curriculum interventions for Key Stage 3 and 4 students. The Pathways are built around a reflective curriculum which is delivered alongside timetabled lessons to embed routine and confidence in learning. A small team of teaching staff and Senior Learning Assistants support pupils though a specialised programme which helps support pupils to succeed in high quality external qualifications.

The successful candidate will need strong communication skills, resilience, and a determination to raise the confidence and aspirations of students. They will be committed to raising pupils’ educational achievement.
