    An exciting opportunity has arisen within Decision Making Support.

    We are recruiting to a full time, permanent Senior Finance Business Partner role within the Decision Making Support Team.

    The Decision Making Support Team is a key part of the Finance and Resources Directorate, providing strategic financial advice and supporting effective decision making across the organisation. This role will provide valuable financial support to the Economy, Infrastructure and Skills Directorate.

    Working closely with Strategic Finance Business Partners and other senior colleagues, you will help the Decision Making Support team to ensure financial strategies are implemented and that financial resources are managed appropriately.

    Main Responsibilities

    The Senior Finance Business Partner role is a wide and varied role with excellent opportunities for partnership working and service collaboration.

    The role involves:

    • working with external and internal stakeholders at senior management level to develop financial acumen of budget holders
    • lead the setting and management of budgets, with varying risks and values, to ensure the wider business plans and overall strategic plan are met.
    • working alongside other specialist officers on strategic project work, developing business cases and supporting the delivery of a well run council through ensuring good financial governance.

    • who is an excellent team player and can demonstrate an ability to; build strong, trusted, influential working relationships, manage others and organise and prioritise competing workloads, effectively

    It is anticipated that shortlisting will take place on Tuesday 5th May 2026 with interviews anticipated to take place week commencing 11th May 2026.

    Interviews will include a short assessment / test as well as traditional interview questions.
