What we are looking for:-
The Role
• Are you a forward-thinking Estates Surveyor looking to make a real difference to our community?
• We're on the hunt for a talented, motivated, and experienced Estates Surveyor to undertake a wide range of property & asset management work.
• You will play a key role in managing the Council’s varied commercial property portfolio, supporting the Council's strategic estate management objectives and helping to maximise value across its assets.
Collaborate Across Teams:
• Working and collaborating with teams across the Council such as: Estates, Facilities, Planning, H&S, Leisure and Sustainability teams in addition to external stakeholders
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Undertaking a broad range of estates management, lease and commercial property activities in line with the Councils Corporate Strategy and a commitment to high quality services to our customers.
• Undertake lettings, rent reviews, lease renewals, assignments and other tasks in connection with the Council’s property interests, ensuring “best value” obligations are satisfied.
• Maintaining high levels of occupancy and strong rental income.
• Manage tenant compliance within lease terms and repairing obligations.
• Effectively deal with breaches of covenant and the resolution of disputes.
• Undertake inspections of premises for management, lease and statutory compliance purposes, including repairs and dilapidations.
• Carry out the necessary investigations for, and progress through to completion, applications to the Council for landlord’s consent for assignments, under lettings, alterations, etc.
• Instruct Legal Services in regard to the preparation of all relevant property transactions and legal documents, approve drafts and manage tasks through to completion.
What you’ll bring to the Team:
• Fully Qualified Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS or FRICS)
• Extensive experience in the role of Estates Surveyor
• Good knowledge of Landlord and Tenant legislation
• Proven experience property and asset management
• Confident communicator and effective collaborator
• A proactive mindset, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous professional development
• Full UK driving licence and access to transport (essential)

Salary range
