About the role and team

The successful candidate will enjoy a range of duties, focusing on the inspection of food businesses in all risk categories, including a number of approved establishments, the participation in sampling programmes, as well as the inspection of workplaces and the completion of nationally and locally agreed targeted health and safety projects. In addition, there will be the opportunity to contribute to the risk assessment and monitoring of private water supplies, the investigation of infectious disease cases, together with playing a key role in supporting the service’s primary authority partnership agreements with several high-profile businesses.

Achieving all this will require flexibility, enthusiasm, good organisation skills and an interest in and knowledge of the topics involved. The role will involve working closely with colleagues, business proprietors and elected members and so will require excellent customer service and communication skills.
