
Senior Engineer
We are recruiting a Senior Engineer at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 37 Hours
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time

Team: Highway Engineering
This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organization.
We pay an attractive salary of £42,839 - £46,142 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
The structures team is responsible for all structural inspections, construction site supervision, design of remedial works to existing structures and new design on behalf of the Authority.
The postholder will undertake the control, review and monitoring of the whole life project fee, construction expenditure and financial management of budgets.
The successful candidate would be joining an established competent team that includes 2 Chartered Engineers who can provide mentoring and when ready, sponsorship to enable any potential candidates to apply for various grades of membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
For the role, we ask that you have:
- A Relevant Level 4, 5 or 6 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales (CQFW). For example, HNC or Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Knowledge of technical standards/manuals, codes of practice and related to the inspection of highway structures.
- A Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to undertake inspections, contract supervision and attend meetings.
