
Senior Definitive Map and Spatial Information Officer

Staffordshire County Council is responsible for managing this extensive network, alongside green spaces and country parks across the county.
We are currently seeking to appoint a Senior Definitive Map and Spatial Information Officer to provide specialist advice and support relating to the wider green and historic environment as well as the public path network.
You will undertake the management of Town and Village Green applications, maintaining the Definitive Map, managing spatial data, through to undertaking site visits to support informed decision-making.
The position is based in Stafford and offers hybrid working. (There is no requirement for rota or weekend working).
The role is fixed term until March 2028.
Main ResponsibilitiesYou will:-
- Deliver the management of Town and Village Green applications and the Definitive Map and statement, including the associated registers and data bases.
- Respond to complex queries and providing advice in a timely manner.
- Manage spatial data, ensuring high level standards for quality.
- Analyse, prepare, report and present information for decision making purposes.
- Support the introduction and establishment of new digital solutions and data management protocols to improve service delivery.
- Undertake site visits.
You will:
- Have significant technical knowledge and experience in GIS and data management skills.
- Have a demonstratable understanding of Village Green legislation and practice and Public Rights of Way
- Have experience of collecting and analysing data, including the ability to interpret historical documents and evidence
- Have good written and oral communications skills
- Be able to work independently, and collaboratively, managing multiple tasks efficiently
- Be willing to undertake regular site visits/inspections in remote areas

Salary range
- £39,152 - £44,075 per year
