About us
At Camden, we’re building a borough where everyone can thrive. We’re not just home to one of the UK’s fastest growing economies, we’re also a place for some of the most important conversations happening today. We’re making radical social change a reality so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you come in.
We’re committed to giving children and young people the very best start in life. That means providing opportunities to be active, healthy and happy. Our sports and leisure programmes, ranging from term-time and holiday courses to drop-in and taster activities, are designed to help young people thrive.
The role
We’re looking for a dynamic Senior Coach to lead our recreational gymnastics programme at Talacre Sports Centre. You’ll oversee day-to-day operations, plan and deliver engaging programmes, and deputise for the Gymnastics Head Coach when required.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring the programme achieves maximum capacity, access, income and customer satisfaction. You’ll also develop clear gymnastics pathways into squad and competitive opportunities, support workforce development, and manage budgets in line with Camden processes. Importantly, you’ll continue to innovate by introducing new initiatives and ensuring our offer reflects industry developments and community needs.
This is a key role in ensuring the service continues to deliver safe, inclusive, high-quality opportunities for all, while promoting participation and lifelong enjoyment of sport.
About you
You’ll hold a Level 3 British Gymnastics qualification (or be working towards this) and have extensive relevant experience. You’ll bring strong knowledge of health and safety standards in gymnastics, safeguarding, and inclusivity in sport.
You’ll have experience managing income-generating sport and leisure services, be commercially astute, and confident in leading and motivating a staff team. You’ll also understand the barriers people face in accessing physical activity, and be able to design services that are open and accessible to all.
Above all, you’ll be passionate about using gymnastics to inspire, engage, and empower children and young people.
You’ll be based at Talacre Sports Centre, with some requirements to attend competitions, events, and meetings with schools, community organisations and delivery partners. You’ll manage up to 6 FTE staff (mostly part-time) and work closely with colleagues across Camden and external partners like British Gymnastics, schools and local clubs.
