Salary: £26,832 - £28,146 per annum (pro rata for part-time) (Pay award pending)

Working Hours: 9am to 5pm

Contract Type: Casual - for 3 months

We are looking for some temporary support for Leicestershire’s Inclusion Service. Your 3-month post would involve processing referrals, updating databases and chasing information that we require about education plans.

An opportunity has arisen for a well-organised and effective individual to join the Children and Family Services Business Support Team as a Senior Business Support Assistant within the Education arena.

About the Role

As a Senior Business Support Assistant, you will join a friendly, motivated team committed to providing excellent customer service. You will provide back-up to colleagues across service areas and assist in handling urgent work on a daily basis.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for providing a comprehensive range of business support services both administrative and secretarial functions. Utilising good organisational skills to co-ordinate local and statutory requirements and arrange statutory meetings.
  • To create, develop and maintain information systems and processes including Microsoft Office packages to produce reports.
  • To support the administration of complex databases ensuring all necessary updating systems are in place, accurate and to ensure effective systems are maintained to allow the supply of information for auditing purposes – allowing the information to be analysed efficiently and effectively across service areas.
  • To be able to prioritise your own workload to Statutory deadlines and work as part of a team.

About You

To apply for this post, you must have/be:

  • Recognised Academic Qualifications e.g. 'GCSE', 'A' Levels, Vocational Qualifications, Professional/Further Education Qualifications in relevant area. NVQ 2 in Business Administration or equivalent. Or equivalent level of relevant experience.
  • Be trained and proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office including the ability to use spreadsheets and perform basic data analysis.
  • Good organisational, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer care skills and a full understanding of the need to maintain confidentiality.
  • To be able to produce accurate work to deadlines.
  • To have the ability to establish and maintain working relationships and communicate effectively with staff at all levels.
  • To have the ability to prioritise own workload and work under minimum supervision, with a flexible approach.
