We have a great opportunity for a Senior Building Control Surveyor on a full time, permanent basis.

Salary: The salary quoted consists of a base salary of £48,226 - £53,460 per year, a 20% Market Premia, £729 London Weighting and £963 Essential Car User Allowance.

You are an ambitious Registered Building Inspector who is dedicated to continuous professional development and committed to delivering exceptional customer service within a forward-thinking local authority.

You are someone who wants to make a real impact in a construction industry that’s rapidly evolving. You bring experience, confidence and the ability to work independently, managing your own caseload while supporting senior colleagues when needed. Ideally, you are already operating at a senior level, but we’d also welcome applications from capable professionals ready to take the next step in their career.

You understand the importance of safe, accessible and energy-efficient buildings, and you are motivated by the opportunity to help shape developments within a diverse mix of residential, commercial and industrial projects. You are adaptable, customer-focused, and prepared to play a key role as the service continues to evolve in line with the requirements of the Building Safety Regulator.

About the team…

You will be joining an enthusiastic, aspirational and customer-focused Building Control team committed to ensuring that buildings across Bracknell Forest are safe for residents and visitors alike.

Based in a thriving Berkshire community, just a short journey from London, the team supports a wide range of exciting developments, from large housing projects to major healthcare redevelopments and our ongoing multi-million-pound town centre regeneration.

Key responsibilities…

  • Working with the Principal Building Control Surveyor(s) to deliver the Building Control function across the borough.
  • Undertaking Plan Checking and Site Inspections as necessary
  • Maintaining and developing professional competence in accordance with the Registered Building Inspector Code of Conduct.
  • Responding to our clients in an appropriate and timely fashion.
  • Promote a positive image of the profession and provide a high standard of service.
