We’re excited to be moving to Microsoft Fabric in the coming months, unlocking new possibilities for single view and end to end analysis, automation and scalable insight delivery. Our team is already embracing Copilot and other AI driven tools, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in local government intelligence.
The role will include:
- Working with teams of data developers and analysts to lead projects that provide the best quality analysis and advice, extracting, integrating, and analysing complex data from multiple systems using advanced SQL
· Providing advice to senior leaders on strategic and operational performance management, identifying where performance insights can inform business decisions, drive improvement and shape future plans.
· Working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to understand requirements in order to deliver complex pieces of work, gather insights and support the development of new mechanisms to assess impact and measure performance.
· Developing and presenting data visualisations, including analysis of key issues using tools such as Power BI, SSRS, Visual Studio, and Excel
· Producing high quality, user friendly reports and dashboards that display complex information and statutory data, including analysis that draws on a range of sources and uses the most appropriate medium to visualise data to tell compelling and actionable stories with clear recommendations to improve outcomes for local people and organisational effectiveness.
· Ensuring that performance management information is timely and robust and used to improve data quality, share insights and strengthen accountability across the organisation.
· Enabling data to be accessed by colleagues through the development of ‘self-serve’ capabilities.
Requirements:
- You are a proactive and analytical individual with a passion for using data to drive improvement
- Substantial experience of using data visualisation tools and specialist technical business intelligence solutions to provide information to a variety of technical and non technical stakeholders.
- Significant experience in conducting data quality assessment, data cleansing and data profiling techniques from multiple sources, to integrate and transform data
- You possess excellent communication and story telling skills, and able to tailor messages and deliver these to diverse audiences
- Experience of presenting information verbally at meetings, undertaking formal presentations and confident in using modern technologies and digital tools to enhance performance.
- You have strong interpersonal skills and can build effective relationship across the organisations in order to communicate complex information clearly to a range of audiences
- A level 6 qualification (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field

Salary range
- £42,839 - £46,142 per year
