This permanent role has a starting salary of £28,285.20 per annum, based on working 21.6 hours per week (3 days)

We have a great opportunity to join our SEND Quality team as a SEND Quality Manager. This opportunity is available as a secondment or fixed term position until December 2026. Please discuss with your Line Manager before submitting your application.

We support hybrid working with the right balance. We come together in person for 2 days per week on average (40% of the working week) and support working from home the rest of the time.

About The Role

As a SEND Quality Manager, you will be working as part of a team, holding responsibility for the implementation of Surrey’s SEND Quality Framework, in line with current legislation. This will involve participating in our audit programme to review the quality of practice within the service. It will involve EHCP audits, Annual review audits, lived experience feedback from young people and families and deep dive audits around specific topic or cohorts of students. You will be involved in analysing legal compliance, moderation of audit outcomes, and completing 121 and group feedback to staff following audits. You will work closely with SEND staff, internal and external colleagues, including social care and health partners, settings and family advocacy groups.

The SEND Quality team currently deliver an extensive range of staff training courses across the county, and you will be involved in delivery and development of this training programme. You will need to keep updated in relation to legislative changes and adapt and review training materials and processes on a regular basis.

You will have key areas of individual responsibility, which will include support for one of the 4 area SEND teams and an additional area which will be agreed with you on appointment.

  • Willingness to accept accountability for the management of risk
  • Competent in a range of IT tools
  • Ability to prioritise and plan own workload in the context of conflicting priorities
  • A methodical approach to tasks, recording and reporting with high level analytical and organisational skills
