In the SEND & Inclusion Service, we aim high for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and we’re looking for skilled professionals with passion and aspirations to drive change.
These roles are pivotal in ensuring that we deliver an exceptional service, strengthening our relationships with families, schools, and communities.

As part of the SEND & Inclusion Service you will deliver high outcomes for children and young people with SEND. You will foster a supportive, relational approach with families, schools, and education providers. You will work collaboratively with children, young people, families and partners to ensure they’re active participants in the development and delivery of SEND services.

As SEND Team Leader, you will play a vital role in ensuring high-quality service delivery to children and young people with SEND. Reporting to the SEND Operations Manager, you’ll oversee operational functions, lead a team of dedicated professionals, and maintain compliance with statutory frameworks, including the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice.
    Key responsibilities include:

    • Managing and supporting a team of Senior SEN Case Officers, Case Officers, and Assistants, ensuring effective case management.
    • Overseeing EHC Needs Assessments and annual review processes, embedding reflective and qualitative practices.
    • Ensuring children’s and young people’s voices inform service delivery and foster aspirational outcomes.
    • Developing strong partnerships with schools and education providers, using relational approaches to drive positive experiences.
    • Handling complex cases and providing legally robust advice as required.
    • Making strategic decisions regarding funding for EHC Plans in line with governance.
    • Leading on the development of compliance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement systems.
    • Representing the service in meetings with local area partners and advising on strategic developments.
    • This role will have up to five direct reports and overall responsibility for a team of up to ten members.

    About You
We’re looking for a dynamic leader with extensive experience in SEND at a management level. You’ll have:
    - A comprehensive understanding of SEND legislation and a proven track record of implementing it effectively.

    • Strong experience in managing complex cases, ensuring solutions are child-centred and outcome-focused.
    • The ability to develop and manage systems related to compliance, quality assurance, and continuous service improvement.
    • Experience working collaboratively with diverse partners to inform service delivery and drive improvement.
