What You’ll Be Doing / How You’ll Be Involved
The Council is undertaking a significant piece of work with schools to review and make changes to the pattern of Education provision to ensure that we meet our sufficiency duty in the context of falling school roles, an increased prevalence of pupils with additional need and acute financial strain within the Camden Schools.
Significantly within this work we are both making strategic changes to our SEND provision and also supporting schools through building adaptations to improve inclusion.
Over the next two-years we will be making further changes, addressing additional specialist places and further adaptations to the estate.
The post is aligned with We Make Camden, it will help ensure that young people have appropriate access to a secure, safe and appropriate education environment to enhance future economic opportunity.
This role will be focused on the delivery of the capital projects within schools and is designed to provide 2 main tasks as detailed in the Job Profile.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS. Please note Camden also offers the DBS update service.

To be considered for this exciting opportunity it’s essential the successful candidate has previous demonstrable experiencein managing complex construction projects, preferably within the education sector. You will have strong budget management skills, with the ability to monitor expenditure, manage risks, and ensure value for money.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders alongside a good understanding of building design, construction, and property management principles.
Additionally, you’ll be familiar with relevant legislation, regulations, and policies related to construction, health and safety, and education.
