
School Business Assistant
We would like to appoint a School Business Assistant from February 23rd 2026 to join our team.
Ashbourne Primary School is a vibrant, welcoming and community-centred school located in the historic market town of Ashbourne, on the edge of the Peak District. The School Business Assistant will assist the School Business Officer in the day-to-day operation of the school’s administration systems and be clerk to governors.
Hours of work will be: 8:30 – 12:00 daily
Plus 5 meetings per year as clerk to governors (7.5 hours)
The successful candidate will:
-Be reliable and enthusiastic and able to use their own initiative
-Have previous experience of working in an office and minuting meetings
-Is highly organised and able to work efficiently under pressure
-Has excellent IT skills and is confident learning new systems
-Communicates clearly, warmly and professionally
-Maintains confidentiality at all times
-Understands the importance of safeguarding and safer recruitment
