Southwark Music is looking for a passionate and dedicated Saturday Centre Administrator (Fixed Term Contract) to join our amazing team and help make a difference to the lives of children and young people across the borough.
About the Role:
Southwark Music aims to enrich the lives of all Southwark children and young people by making the learning of music dynamic, energetic, varied and fun. We deliver this through our work in schools, our Saturday Centre, and a range of events and projects.
As Saturday Centre Administrator, you will provide high-quality administrative support to the Head of the Saturday Centre and contribute to the efficient and smooth running of the Centre. The Centre offers individual, group and ensemble lessons across a wide range of instruments and styles, with around 220 students aged 5–18 attending weekly during term time, supported by approximately 20 tutors and staff.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing online applications for all offers at the Saturday Centre
- Maintaining accurate cloud-based records for applications and waiting lists in line with SMS GDPR policy
- Acting as the main point of contact for the Saturday Centre, responding to queries from parents, tutors, staff and partner agencies
- Assisting with timetabling lessons across all teaching areas
- Collecting and monitoring charges and supporting arrears procedures as directed
- Supporting the wider Southwark Music Service team with general administrative duties
- Ensuring deadlines are met and work is prioritised effectively
This is a 9-month Fixed Term Contract
About You:
You will be organised, proactive and able to work effectively in a busy environment.
You will:
- Take initiative and work confidently under pressure
- Have strong administrative and organisational skills
- Be confident communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including parents and teaching staff
- Be able to manage records accurately and handle sensitive data appropriately
- Be available to work every Saturday during term time, and a half day on Thursdays

Additional Information:
- This is a part-time role working 1.5 days per week. You must be available to work every Saturday morning during term time, plus one additional half day as required.
