
SALT specialist TA Level 3
Salary: £22,291 - £26,568 (pt 15 – 18)
Working Hours: 35 hours per week
Contracted Weeks: 44.6 Weeks. Permanent Contract

Role Overview:
The ideal candidate will possess a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification and have
proven experience or training in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and
Disabilities (SEND).
Essential qualifications include Level 3 teaching Assistant qualification or degree
equivalent. The role also requires a strong knowledge of Speach and Language therapy,
strategies in an educational setting and a solid understanding of safeguarding policies.
Desirable qualifications include additional SEND certifications, first aid certification, and
experience in a primary school setting.
The candidate must demonstrate excellent communication, organisational, and
behaviour management skills, and be empathetic, adaptable, and a team player
committed to professional development. Responsibilities include supporting the
communication and language development of pupils with autism and complex
communication needs. Working under the guidance of a qualified Speech and Language
Therapist (SALT), the postholder delivers targeted interventions, supports classroom
communication strategies, and helps pupils access learning through tailored support. This
role is essential in promoting functional communication, social interaction, and language
development in a structured and inclusive learning environment.
