- Helping customers understand their accounts and resolving enquiries with empathy and confidence.
Recovering Outstanding Debt
- Managing recovery action for unpaid accounts in line with legislation and council policies.
- Negotiating realistic payment arrangements with customers.
- Liaising with enforcement agents and other external partners to maximise collection rates.
Maintaining Accurate Records
- Ensuring information is accurate, up to date, and recorded correctly across systems.
Applying Legislation and Policy
- Interpreting and applying relevant legislation, policies, and procedures consistently and fairly.
Working as Part of a Team
- Collaborating with colleagues and external partners to deliver excellent outcomes for our residents and businesses.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- Detail-oriented and able to work accurately in a busy environment.
- A confident communicator with strong customer service and negotiation skills.
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities.
- Comfortable interpreting procedures and legislation.
- IT literate, ideally with experience of revenues systems such as Civica or similar software.
- Experienced in local taxation, revenues, debt recovery, customer service, or a comparable financial environment.
Most importantly, you'll be committed to delivering excellent customer service and making a positive contribution to the team.
