
Revenues and Council Tax Support (CTS) Officer
Job Description
OverviewThe London Borugh of Harrow is seeking for a Revenues and Council Tax Support (CTS) Officer who will be responsible for delivering the Administration of Council Tax, Business Rates and BIDS bills to the boroughs taxpayers as well as the collection of Housing Benefit Overpayments. Responsibility is primarily to complete assessments for localised Hardship fund applications, but may also encompass updating occupation and vacation changes, assessing eligibility for discounts and exemptions.
This post supports the Revenues Team Leaders, as well as being the first point of referral and advice for Revenues Assistants regarding procedures and legislation. The post is key to income collection and the assessment of council tax support discounts and monetary awards. Most of the duties carried out will depend on where the post is located, either in the Revenues or Council Tax Support services. It is expected that holders of this post will be fully generic over time and once trained may be requested to work in either service depending on service exigencies. There are no direct reports.
About You
The candidate should have:-
A minimum of 6 months experience of working in a Revenues, Council Tax Support or Housing Benefits office environment
Knowledge of Council Tax & Business Rates or of the CTS schemes & Housing Benefits legislation.
Good IT knowledge including Microsoft packages such as excel and access
Ability to work on your own initiative in a highly pressurised environment with ever changing and conflicting priorities.

- £30,384 - £32,349 per year
