This a Level 4 Apprenticeship provided through the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation that will give you an in depth understanding of this area of the Public Sector, giving you a great kickstart to your career if this is an area of interest for you. The role is a 2-year Fixed Term Contract covering the duration of the apprenticeship.
Start your career by helping to fund the very services you use every day, from local parks to bin collections. As the first point of contact for residents, you will accurately manage Council Tax accounts, handle enquiries, and process essential discounts to ensure everyone pays the right amount. As well as the apprenticeship qualification you’ll also gain hands-on experience in data management and customer service within a supportive team.
By handling local taxation with empathy and precision, you directly ensure the council has the resources needed to look after the entire community. It is a high-impact position where your attention to detail ensures that the town's financial foundation remains solid.
About you
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Interest in Local Government and helping residents of Rugby
- Strong Customer Service skills
- Good standard of education, including Maths and English GCSE grade C/4 or above
- Practical experience of ICT systems including working knowledge of IT programs i.e. MS office particularly Outlook, Word and Excel
- Good written and oral communication skills e.g. ability to speak with a range of people from all walks of life
