In this pivotal role, you’ll ensure the Council meets its duties under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, coordinating our emergency planning, response, and recovery. You’ll be the go-to expert for resilience - shaping plans, leading training, and representing the Council at key forums.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Leading the development and delivery of emergency and business continuity plans.
  • Advising on risk, response, and recovery strategies across the Council.
  • Coordinating the Council’s Out-of-Hours Service and acting as Duty Officer on a rota basis.
  • Supporting community resilience, including Parish Councils and volunteer Flood Wardens.
  • Driving innovation through resilience projects and continuous improvement.
  • Representing the Council at local, regional, and national resilience forums.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A strategic thinker with a strong understanding of emergency planning and business continuity.
  • A confident communicator who can engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Someone who thrives in dynamic situations and can lead under pressure.
  • Experience in project management and multi-agency coordination is a plus.
