Are you passionate about safeguarding children and supporting families? Wokingham Borough Council is looking for a Referral Coordinator to join our dynamic MASH team. This is a vital role where you’ll be the first point of contact for concerns about a child’s safety or welfare, ensuring timely and effective responses that make a real difference.

In this role, you will take, log, and progress referrals from members of the public and professionals, working within prescribed timescales to assess risk and need. You’ll gather relevant information from families and partner agencies, provide clear analysis and recommendations, and coordinate next steps – whether that’s escalation for statutory intervention or signposting to early help services. Your work will ensure that children receive the right support at the right time.

You’ll also arrange multi-agency meetings, liaise with professionals across health, education, and social care, and maintain strong relationships with partner organisations. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality. You’ll often be supporting families in distress, so empathy and resilience are essential.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to analyse complex information. Experience in children’s services or a similar environment is desirable, as is knowledge of safeguarding procedures and multi-agency working. In return, we offer a supportive team, ongoing professional development, and the chance to make a real impact in the lives of children and families.

Why Wokingham:

Our refreshed structure presents excellent new opportunities for innovative & dynamic professionals.
