    The Receptionist/Clerical Administrator at Wellington House is a varied role within the Compliance, Funding and Performance Service which sits within the wider Employment and Skills Service. The Compliance, Funding and Performance Service supports the delivery and compliance of a variety of contracts under the Employment and Skills banner, such as the newly developed Pathways to Work programme. They also offer operational support to all staff who are based within Wellington House and provide a comprehensive reception role for the Adult Skills and Community Learning Service to ensure a welcoming environment for learners. The focus of the Employment and Skills Service is to support adults and older young people to get ready for, into, and on in work. This might be by providing them with education, training, or Information, Advice and Guidance. The role is vital as it is the first point of contact for customers accessing the Employment and Skills Service, which could be face to face, by telephone or via online enquires. You will support systems and processes related to our day-to-day operational practice such as dealing with learner enquiries, sign- posting where appropriate, supporting enrolment processes, booking rooms, and welcoming stakeholders. You will support the reimbursement of travel and expenses to learners.

    To excel in this position, you must possess outstanding interpersonal abilities and have substantial knowledge and experience in customer service. You will be compassionate and welcoming, as well as organised and resourceful. It is important to make all visitors to the building feel comfortable and provide them with the information they need in a professional and calm manner. Adults visiting our service may have previously encountered challenges in work, education, and training, therefore it is important for them to feel assured that we can provide appropriate support to assist them in achieving their goals. You will need excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and be able to record information effectively and accurately, using a variety of IT packages and systems. The ideal candidate will actively seek to promote and demonstrate the Council’s and Service’s core values, working collaboratively across the Employment and Skills Service. You will be required to work core service hours as this is a front of house position.

    • £25,583 - £25,989 per year
