We are recruiting a Receptionist at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 1 x 15.5 hours per week / 1 x 26.5 hours per week
Contract Type: 2 x Part Time, Fixed Term for 1 year
Location: Risca Leisure Centre

Team: Sport and Leisure Services

We pay an attractive salary of £10,717 - £10,887 (15.5 hours) / £18,322 - £18,613 (26.5 hours) and offer access to training and development opportunities.

Receptionists provide front-line customer service, managing enquiries, bookings, and access control. They ensure a professional welcome, maintain safeguarding standards, and support smooth facility operations.

The role includes handling phone calls, processing payments, updating records, and assisting with general administration. Receptionists work closely with operational teams to support service delivery and respond to customer needs. Strong communication, attention to detail, and reliability are essential.

The post requires flexible working across daytime, evening, and weekend shifts to meet service demands. These hours will be worked on a rotating basis, if you require further information on the available hours, please contact the recruiting manager using the details provided below.

For the role, we ask that you have:

  • 5 GCSEs Grade A*-C or equivalent level of qualifications on the Credit and Qualifications Framework or relevant Level 2 qualification. For example, NVQ2 Customer Service
  • The ability to operate a cash handling and recording system.
  • Proven experience of a direct customer focused service.
