    We are looking for a Public Health Intelligence and Epidemiology Lead to help lead and shape the public health intelligence function at Staffordshire County Council.

    This is a permanent post and a hybrid role, requiring occasional time in the office base in Stafford attending meetings, but flexible working is available.

    Main Responsibilities

    In this role you'll:

    • Lead the production of robust, quality assured intelligence about health and wellbeing outcomes, including for statutory outputs such as the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment and Director of Public Health Annual Report.
    • Translate intelligence into recommendations for action, to inform policy decisions, service commissioning and priority setting.
    • Communicate and present health intelligence with authority.
    • Develop the public health intelligence function, working collaboratively to support the embedding of a Population Health Management approach.
    The Ideal Candidate

    You will:

    • have strong analytical and statistical skills and experience of leading and managing a team of public health intelligence analysts.
    • be able to use intelligence to address key public health questions, informing public health action and can communicate findings and key messages to decision makers with authority.
    • be able to work proactively to help develop the public health intelligence function, and work collaboratively with colleagues within Staffordshire County Council and across the Integrated Care System.

    Interviews will be held on Tuesday 15 of July and Thursday 17 of July (TBC) at Staffordshire County Council, 1 Staffordshire Place, Tipping Street, Stafford, ST16 2DH.
