Are you passionate about bringing creativity to public spaces and engaging communities through art? We’re looking for a dynamic Public Art Project Officer to lead on exciting cultural initiatives across Barnsley, including programming the iconic Yorkshire Roses installation and curating the Barnsley Way Public Art Trail. This is a unique opportunity to shape the borough’s cultural landscape and deliver projects that celebrate local identity and creativity.

In this role, you’ll work closely with artists, community groups, and partners to deliver high-quality public art experiences. You’ll manage projects from inception to evaluation, mentor creative practitioners, and ensure residents are at the heart of our cultural journey. From securing funding to promoting opportunities through social media and events, you’ll play a key role in making public art accessible and inspiring for all.

If you have experience in managing public art projects, strong communication and organisational skills, and a passion for community engagement, we’d love to hear from you. Join us and help create vibrant, inclusive spaces that reflect Barnsley’s heritage and ambition.
