Salary: £30,269 - £32,790 (pro rata)
22.5 hours/ week, 3 year fixed term
Location: Council Offices, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks (with project work at Bradbourne Lakes)
We are seeking an enthusiastic Project Officer to help deliver an exciting programme of community activities as part of the Bradbourne Re-bourne Heritage Project.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a major National Lottery Heritage Fund initiative focused on restoring Bradbourne Lakes and expanding engagement through events, workshops and community initiatives. You will work closely with the project manager and wider project team to ensure that plans are delivered effectively and inclusively.
About the role
You will support the delivery of the approved project’s Activity Plan by:
- Organising and delivering community events, workshops and educational activities
- Building strong relationships with local partners, community groups, residents and schools
- Assisting in the development of a structured volunteering programme
- Assisting with the recruiting and training volunteers to build heritage, ecological and cultural skills
- Supporting marketing and promotion of inclusive and accessible activities
- Continuing consultation and collecting feedback with local residents to understand community needs during the project
- Monitoring project progress, supporting the management of resources and activity budgets, and reporting outcomes
This role will involve some evening and weekend working (mostly events at the park), for which time off in lieu will be provided.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience in community engagement, events or creative learning programmes – ideally National Lottery projects
- Is highly organised with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Is confident working with a range of partners, volunteers and community groups
- Is passionate about helping communities connect with local green spaces and heritage
- Has good administrative skills and can produce clear reports
- Experience of volunteer coordination, social media promotion, or working in parks, heritage or conservation projects would be an advantage.

This role will be based at our Council Offices, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks, Kent TN13 1HG. We currently operate a hybrid working model for the majority of our roles where your working time will be divided between the office (2-3 days per week, pro-rata) and home working.
