We are looking for a motivated Wellbeing Project Officer to join Barnsley Council’s Community Safety service and support delivery of the Evening and Night-Time Economy delivery plan.
The role will help make Barnsley town centre safer, more inclusive and welcoming.
You will work with council services, South Yorkshire Police, Licensing, Public Health, support providers, voluntary sector partners, businesses and venues to coordinate activity, gather insight and monitor impact.
You will:
- Support delivery of the Evening and Night-Time Economy delivery plan and associated project activity.
- Use data, feedback and partner intelligence to identify issues, hotspots and emerging risks.
- Support action to reduce violence, antisocial behaviour, exploitation, spiking and non-domestic abuse VAWG.
- Prepare project updates, reports, briefings and monitoring information for governance and funding requirements.
- Engage with partners, venues, businesses and communities to promote safer behaviours and access to support.

You will be proactive, organised and confident working with a range of partners. You will have strong communication skills, good attention to detail and a commitment to safeguarding, prevention and supporting vulnerable people with dignity and respect.
You will bring
- Experience supporting projects, partnership work or community-based activity.
- Strong organisational, communication and engagement skills.
- Confidence using information and data to support planning and reporting.
- Awareness of community safety, safeguarding, vulnerability, trauma-informed practice and evening and night-time economy issues.
- Ability to work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends.

Salary range
- £35,412 - £38,220 per year
