We’re looking for an experienced and driven PMO Specialist to help shape and strengthen project and programme management across two forward-thinking councils.

The Role
As our PMO Specialist, you’ll lead the development of a high-performing Project Management Office, embedding best practices and supporting teams to deliver successful outcomes. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, project sponsors, and delivery teams to ensure our programmes are governed effectively, resourced smartly, and delivered with excellence.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and lead a unified PMO function across both councils.
- Embed consistent project management frameworks, tools, and training.
- Coach and support project managers and sponsors to deliver success.
- Drive benefits realisation and continuous improvement.
- Lead a community of practice for project professionals.
- Provide expert insight, challenge, and support to senior stakeholders.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience in strategic project and programme management.
- Strong knowledge of project methodologies and governance.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A proactive, analytical mindset with a passion for improvement.
- A recognised project management qualification (or equivalent experience).

Salary range
- £43,693 - £47,754 per year
