Print Operative
Barnsley MBC is undergoing an exciting period of cultural change to embrace the use of digital technologies, reduce manual processes and work in a more agile way. As part of the Facilities Management Print team you will support the Council to achieve its goals under the #Digital First agenda by providing a modern approach to printing requests, which may include signposting customers to digital alternatives instead.
We’re looking for someone experienced in working effectively in a busy team environment, ideally producing a varied range of high-quality printed products using specialist design, printing and finishing equipment and software. Products may be sensitive in nature so adherence to Barnsley MBC’s confidentiality rules is essential.
The ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of Microsoft applications and be able to process information accurately to ensure product quality is maintained.
As this team provides a service for all business units at Barnsley MBC there may be periods where it is necessary to manage conflicting workloads to meet strict deadlines. We need someone who has the initiative to handle such situations and work with the rest of the team to overcome problems; ensuring delivery timescales are met without compromising product quality. Having the ability to maintain professional written and verbal communication with customers to provide advice and progress updates is an essential skill for this role.
The role will involve some manual handling and periods of standing. There may also be a requirement to undertake travel in connection with the post.
Candidates will be willing to work flexibly in accordance with Barnsley MBC policies and procedures and adhere to the Council’s visions, values and behaviours.
In return for your commitment to the post we offer a competitive salary and pension scheme, alongside a range of other employee benefits such as the Just4YOU scheme, flexible working arrangements and an extensive range of classroom and online training courses.
