About the Role

Join the Policy and Strategy team as a Principal Policy Officer – Employment & Skills

We are recruiting an experienced Policy Officer to support the development and implementation of employment and skills policy within the Liverpool City Region.

This role will cover a range of areas including Apprenticeship & Skills programmes, NEET prevention, working with local and central government partners and on new initiatives such as our Youth Guarantee Trailblazer.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced individual to lead the development and implementation of our strategic policies aimed at tackling employment and skills challenges across the City Region, utilising data analysis to identify key areas of concern and collaborating with diverse stakeholders to design and align effective policy interventions that help the employment and skills opportunities for City Region residents.

About the person

If you have a sound knowledge and understanding of the employment and skills agenda and are experienced in developing policy and strategy this could be the role for you. We want someone with the ability to shape future policy thinking locally and nationally, and who can work proactively, building strong relationships with stakeholders and our constituent authorities to deliver better outcomes across the city region.

We are looking for someone who can deliver high quality, technical policy input, providing strategic expertise and guidance to our Leadership Team. You will be politically aware with the ability to work at pace and have a track record of operating in a complex policy environment.

Salary range

  • £54,458 - £57,640 per year
